Baahubali 2, scheduled to open on April 28, has already made a pre-release business of over Rs 500 crore through its distribution and satellite rights down south. Apart from Prabhas and Rana Daggubati, actors Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia and Sathyaraj will reprise their roles. Karan Johar's Dharma Productions will release the magnum opus in Hindi, as it did with part one which released in 2015. Baahubali: The Conclusion is expected to finally reveal why Katappa killed Baahubali (the role is a double one) in the first film.
Baahubali: The Conclusion will also track the love story of Devasena, played by Anushka Shetty, and Amarendra Baahubali and Bhalla Deva's subsequent rise to power.
Baahubali: The Beginning became the first south Indian film to earn over Rs 650 crore worldwide. The Telugu version of the film won the National Awards for Best Feature Film and Best Special Effects.
Shah Rukh Khan was last seen in January release Raees, which received good reviews and made a respectable amount at the box office. His other current projects include Imtiaz Ali's film with Anushka Sharma and a film directed by Aanand L Rai in which he plays a dwarf.
